Flemming & MacDonald Among Registered Drivers
Halifax, NS (April 30, 2007)
– Current champion John Flemming and past champion
Rollie MacDonald have registered for the 2007
CARQUEST Pro Stock Tour.
Flemming was one of two drivers to win more that one
race in 2006, winning the Parts For Trucks 100 at
New Brunswick International Speedway, the CARQUEST
100 and Parts For Trucks 200, both at Scotia
Speedworld. MacDonald took his King Freight Line
sponsored vehicle to victory lane at the Parts For
Trucks 100 at Centre For Speed.
Joining these two veterans is Shawn Turple in the
Atlantic Cat / Ledwidge Lumber Monte Carlo from the
Fraser racing stable. Turple was the 2005 EIT Race
Rookie of the Year. Also from the Fraser stable is
racing legend Frank Fraser, who is returning to the
Maritime oval tracks in 2007. Fraser contends that
his is a work in progress, who will evaluate his and
the cars performance after three or four races.
Islander Greg Proude is back in 2007, hoping to
improve on his 10th place finish in the
2006 pints standings. Proude has won races in each
of his two years on the tour, both at Raceway Park
in Oyster Bed Bridge, PE. Fellow Islander Robbie
MacLean has also registered for competition in 2007.
MacLean has run a part-time schedule in both 2005
and 2006.
Long time Legend Car racer Gary Bursey of Moncton,
NB has sent his registration to the Tour office.
Bursey is a veteran racer with experience in many
classes of cars. He competed at the August race at
Centre For speed in 2006.
